Garlic Butter Mashed Potatoes

These easy homemade garlic butter mashed potatoes make the best side dish to any meal, with only a few ingredients and 20 minutes to spare. Mashed potatoes are one of the easiest, cheap, and filling side dishes.

Thanksgiving is my absolute favorite holiday, because of the community but also the food! If you like mashed potatoes then this is the recipe for you!

Ingredients

Russet potatoes – the easiest potato to make mashed potatoes with!

Butter – for flavor! How can you eat potatoes without it?

Milk – to make the mashed potatoes creamy

Garlic powder – for flavor!

Salt – for flavor!

Pepper – for flavor!

Oregano (optional) – for flavor but also decoration

Potato masher

Potato peeler

Glass bowls

How to make garlic butter mashed potatos

Start with washing and scrubbing the potatoes clean and dry them with a towel.

Peel all of the potatoes with your peeler.

Slice them into 5 pieces per potato.

Put them in a pot with cold water and a sprinkle of salt then bring them to a boil, and boil them for about 15 minutes or until they are easily separated by a utensil.

Drain the water and mash them with a fork, whisk, or potato masher! Add in your butter, salt, pepper, and milk.

Stir until combined, and then drizzle the excess butter onto the potatoes, and top with oregano!

Serve and enjoy!
